The Event Planning Manager becomes the customers point of contact, completes up-selling and all final event documentation up until the event arrival and handover to the Conference and Banqueting Event Manager. The role has a strong focus on maximising sales and conversion for the hotel, working with members of the service delivery teams and ensuring a high quality end product. **Skills and Knowledge** · Familiarity and knowledge of all departments within the hotel · Effective communication and presentation skills · Manages conflict situations effectively · Strong PC and keyboard skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint · Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) · Understands group and catering forecast · Ability to manage bedroom blocks and conference inventories · Technical strength in Delphi and/or MARSHA · Ability to manage customer budgets · Understands the department P&L statement and manages events accordingly · Understands event technology products · Strong understanding of designing, up-selling and executing outstanding events · Understands hotel revenue strategy _Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
