The Senior Manager of GS&S Training & Resilience MEA will report to the Senior Director GS&S MEA with matrix reporting to Senior Director GS&S Europe. He/ She must possess strong command of safety and security protocol and outstanding communication skills. He/ She must have the ability to manage all aspects of safety and security training ensuring that the Regional GS&S Senior Directors remain regularly apprised and informed of all key issues. He/ She is experienced in all aspects of training design, development and particularly delivery, across diverse countries with cultural differences. **JOB SUMMARY** The Senior Manager, Training & Resilience Global Safety & Security (GS&S) EMEA manages the regional delivery of the GS&S training program for Marriott associates and carries out mitigation activities to support physical security resilience where required by the business. The incumbent will: - Support the Senior Directors GS&S in developing, delivering and maintaining the international security training program - Deliver GS&S training to properties in the region as required by GS&S Operations - Manage resources in conjunction with the regional GS&S Operations Teams - Ensure training delivery and objectives are aligned with overall training strategy and regional GS&S Operations teams - Carry out security resilience activities such as comprehensive risk assessments and special event planning and support - Serve as a trainer to property-based security directors and their staff - Support regional crisis management activities remotely or by deploying to affected areas/properties - Deploy at short notice in support of regional security operations as required by the business - Train security personnel in effective use of new security equipment as and when it comes into service - Monitor trends related to political instability, terrorism and crime **EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS** - Support development and delivery of the international GS&S training program based on a deep understanding of regional threat actors, their tactics and property-level internal and external security challenges - Assist in reviewing existing security eLearning training packages to identify where modernization is required - Conduct periodic reviews of the training program to ensure it remains aligned with training strategies - Conduct security reviews and assessments at high-risk hotels and or hotels identified by the business and provide feedback and recommendations to stakeholders where necessary - When required, assist in design specifications of physical security counter measures for new or existing properties - Assist property-based loss prevention/security directors to facilitate training programs for hotel staff - Network with security leaders of corporate accounts and strengthen relationships with Embassy RSOs - Build and maintain a network of property-based security trainers to deliver programs locally, champion their development and conduct observations of local trainers providing feedback and ensuring consistency of programs. - Liaise with property-based security directors serving as resource to help ensure property-based training plans are effective - Effectively manages the day-to-day logistics and delivery of the training program, ensuring appropriate materials and resources are available - Communicate effectively with regional teams, general managers, executive committee members and security directors to ensure commitment to all training initiatives - Serve as resource to other disciplines and assist as appropriate - Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs and/or as directed by the Director of Training & Resilience **COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Provide a detailed report on each property training course, including recommendations to the General Manager and Area/Regional GS&S Regional Director. - Provide an analysis of training activities on a quarterly basis to the GS&S Regional Directors - Report out on training activities at Global Safety and Security Staff Meetings and any other meetings as required by the Business **CANDIDATE PROFILE** **Experience** • At least 6 years of security experience, preferably in the area of security training • Progressive work experience in the security field, preferably with lodging knowledge • Working in different countries and continents demonstrating cultural adaptation • Prior residential experience in the areas of responsibility preferred • Extensive experience of physical security measures in high-risk locations • Extensive knowledge of security technology in high-risk locations, i.e., x-ray machines, explosive detection devices, metal detectors, explosive dogs, etc. • Extensive experience and familiarity with firearms and explosives in high-risk locations • Experience of living and working in high-risk environments • Experience of training foreign nationals in physical and operational security measures highly desirable **Education or Certification** • University degree preferred • English fluency required, plus fluency in at least one other language relevant to the high-risk areas preferred • Ability to pass detailed background check **Skills and Knowledge** • Experience in training design, development and delivery using various methods • Skill and expertise in report writing (English) • Recognizes business constraints and adapts training strategies accordingly • Knowledge of property emergency plans, safety and security guidelines, and crisis management • Knowledge of terrorist organizations and tactics, techniques and procedures • Knowledge of terrorism countermeasures • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards for countries in the high-risk areas • Understanding of "duty of care" principles • Good negotiation skills • Actively pursues learning and self-development to enhance personal and professional growth; shares knowledge and expertise with others • High degree of initiative and ability to work effectively in teams or independently • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) • Strong training facilitation and presentation skills • Demonstrated leadership in worldwide initiatives and program/process implementation • Demonstrated ability of effectively implementing and influencing cross _MarriottInternational is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring adiverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
