So, we ask, where will your journey take you? **TASKSCOPE** The position provides overall accounting services including balance sheet reconciliations to the participating hotels and the company’s own entities, management of the accounts payable, receivable function, month-end journals and closing, and other statutory and management reporting. The Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day accounting requirements are met and assists the Assistant Director of Finance to ensure that the participating properties receive the appropriate levels of service. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Overseeing the month end closingprocess including approval of journal entries and account reconciliations forthe company’s own entities and the participating hotels. + Preparing accounting entries forMarriott indirect costs, salary reallocations, loan transactions,disbursements, refunds, and repayments. + Balance sheet reconciliations forthe company’s own entities and the participating hotels. + Ad hoc reporting and forecasting + Responsible for monthly BASreconciliation, annual FBT return, and other forms related to the company’sown entities + Supervision of the Accountsspecialist function + Ensuring the timely payment forAccounts Payable invoices + Ensuring accurately recharges toparticipating properties + Ensuring the adherence policiesand procedures. + Assisting the budget and forecastprocess for company’s own entities + Compiling month end statisticsand reports for participating properties, owners and the regional team. + Assisting the Assit DOF withregular communication to internal and external customers + Assisting the Assit DOF toanalyze and review expenditure trends for company’s own entities + Assisting the Assit DOF to ensurecompliance with fiscal accountability and Marriott reporting and fundingrequirements + Monitoring and reviewingaccounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness; + Preparing and reviewing budget,revenue, expense, and payroll entries, invoices, and other accountingdocuments for company’s own entities + Interacting with internal andexternal auditors, participates in auditing projects, or provides informationand access to accounting records as required + Supervising and leading theAccounts Assistants and other associates and/or student employees as required + Performing miscellaneous job-relatedduties as assigned by senior managers. + Abide by Company policies andprocedures **_CANDIDATE PROFILE_** + _3+years experience in similar role_ + _Knowledgeand experience of hotel accounting principles preferred_ + _Generalledger account balancing and reconciliations including journal entry andmonth end closing processes_ + _PeopleSoftexperience preferred_ + _Knowledgeof federal and state regulations and local reporting requirements._ + _Knowledgeof finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures._ + _Abilityto analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports,statements and/or projections._ + _Indepth knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook_ + _Experiencewith tight month end closing process_ **_Personal Attributesand Competencies_** + _Abilityto effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and/orprocedures in a manner easily understood by the customer._ + _Abilityto supervise and train assigned staff._ + _Wellorganized and efficient_ + _Excellentcommunication skills, both verbal and written_ + _Theability to multi-task_ + _Self-starterand willingness to learn new skills._ + _Teamoriented person who can focus on the details._ + _Responsible,honest and trustworthy_ + _Pleasantand professional manner_ + _Abilityto interact with hotel associates of difference levels_ **_Education_** + _Graduate in Accounting / Financediscipline_ + _CPA/CA qualified_ _Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
